LNG RoRo ship equipped with Palma marine battery successfully completed sea trials

An LNG car carrier with a capacity of 7,500 vehicles, fitted with the PM200-12 (6-GFM-200) marine battery produced by PALMA, has successfully completed its sea trials. The vessel was built by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. and is the first of a planned series of ten ships that will support China’s automotive exports to overseas markets.

Being selected for this vessel marks a milestone for PALMA, as the company moves from supplying batteries for small vessels to medium and large ships. PALMA has long focused on the marine market, progressing from starter batteries for small boats to energy storage and backup batteries for larger ships. The company holds certifications from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the China Classification Society (CCS), and its marine batteries are used by shipyards and shipowners across the industry.

PALMA continues to develop additional marine battery models to meet customer demand and to support the growth of China’s shipbuilding industry.
